$1,300.00 spent & laptop dead upon arrival from OfficeMax
My new laptop arrived in a factory sealed box with a factory box seal intact. It was packed tightly inside a separate OfficeMax box.
I opened it this evening & read the instruction manual enclosed within the package. I was directed to charge the Laptop for three hours.
I placed it on my cool pad with fans on to keep the unit cool & began the charge. Upon completion of the charge time, I attempted to power the new unit on. Unfortunately, It would not do anything.
No lights on the power button or keyboard. Just dead on arrival. RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. OBVIOUSLY NO QUALITY CONTROL, UNTESTED.
Do not buy from this Company. They only offer a 14 day return policy. I ordered this junk online at Office Depot / OfficeMax web-sight on sale. $200.00 off.
That creates issues for a built in rip off of over $1,000.00. There is no Office Depot anywhere near my home in the backwoods of Kentucky. This was well over $ 1,300.00+. As for the Extended 4yr
warranty I paid $300.00 for., I now assume it isn't worth the paper it's written on as it is not refundable.
It must be downloaded & printed from an Email they send out as a PDF file. What the *** is OfficeMax trying to pull here? I was misled to think that Office Depot / OfficeMax & ASUAS were reputable companies for years? This is the second laptop I've tried to buy in the last 30 days.
NEVER AGAIN.
I'm going back to paper & pencil. Old school style.

Horrible
Purchased a PC that was charged to my credit card. Several days later I received a notice that my order was cancelled.
No valid reason and when I questioned them I was told I needed to contact my credit card company to have the charge removed. I think the customer service of this company sucks completely. I'll find another PC but not from these guys, I can't believe they did not to at least remove the charge from my card.
It cost me time to decide to purchase this PC from this company they did nothing to assist me but glad to sell me something. I hope this keeps someone else from making the same mistake I made and hope others will learn from my mistake.

Officemax - Computer Service Review
Resolved: This company is VERY unethical, at least in the way we were treated.
Advertising out of stock items
- Product availability
Preferred solution: Allow the computer to be ordered online or get stock into the stores when advertised!
Officemax Does Not Sell "Warranties"; Never have, never will.
As a former Employee, hopefully I can clear up some misunderstandings. Officemax SELLS products made by numerous manufacturers.
They DO NOT sell Warranties or "extended Warranties". Warranties are given by the Manufacturer of a product if they choose. Officemax does not manufacture anything. What they do sell are Service and Replacement Plans which cover accidental damage.
If your product breaks and it has a Warranty, by all means send it back to the manufacturer during the first year (with most items) and they will fix it or replace it. THEY guarantee it. Do not return it to the store, they do NOT guarantee it. They did not manufacture it.
If YOU broke it, and you bought the Service and Replacement Plan, call the 800 number on your service plan and they will fix it or (probably) issue you a gift card for what you paid plus tax. If you did not buy a Service and Replacement Plan with your product and YOU broke it, YOU lose. Its a gamble. You will not get your money back for your Replacement Plan, nor would you expect your Insurance Company to give you back your monthly premiums after you had an automobile accident and they paid to fix your car.
You have the option of buying a Replacement plan on your new item, just as you would buy insurance on a new car. The "old" plan does not carry over to the "new" item. Its the chance you take.
BTW: Over half the items returned to electronics manufacturers as "defective" are not. They are tested and work as designed and are frequently sold as "refurbished".
Bad service
Recycle laser toner payment is too hard to claim
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
